Suction values jumpin around
Hi,
Sabroe 163 mk compressor.the suction pressure and seq. suction pressure values are all over the place .Jumpin from for example 2 hg to 2 psi .Just changed tranducers cable and sensors but still happening .Anyone have an idea on what could be going on here ?

Re: Suction values jumpin around
So far you have; Checked sensor location for oil, calibrated sensor and even installed a gauge beside it, replaced sensor and cable....and you are still getting problems. Did you zero out your Static offset? For example if you installed a 0 to 150# transducer.....input 0 for min and 150 for max?

Re: Suction values jumpin around
Has the transducer always done this or is it something new?
Whet is the sensor located relative tot he sensing point?
have you tried to throttle the block valve to the sensor?
Have you confirmed the readings with a gauge ?
It may be an electrically induced change and not mechanical. Is the cable properly grounded?
It may be a problem with the point on the control board.

Re: Suction values jumpin around
You did change like for like, for instance if it was a 1-6 volt transducer you replaced with 1-6 volt, not a 4 to 20 milli amp. and you said you did replace the wire so there couldn't be any rubbing issues there....And you positive you wired it up right? There really isn't anything trick about them. Is it coming off a three way valve? When did this problem occur? Have you had any electrical issues, (ie lightning storms)?

Who designed your control system?

Re: Suction values jumpin around
Put a mechanical gauge on it and see if it follows the transducer..pretty simple. If the guage is steady, them it is a problem with the electronics.

Re: Suction values jumpin around
That's what I thought, I will send you a contact number for M&M. He will be able to pin point a problem.

Re: Suction values jumpin around
Can someone tell me.
Do M&M supply their own control software and Hardware or do they use the Sabroe Unisab Control system?
Hi Stanthony.
Is your pressure transducer a Danfoss AKS 32R as is supplied here in Europe.
I may be able to help but because of size details I will have to email them to you, rather than post them.
It's relatively easy to test the Signal / voltages from them.

Re: Suction values jumpin around
Seq. mode removes each compressors micro panel reading and replaces it with the house reading. So they will all be reading the same suction pressures when staging on and off. Did you get the number I sent you?

Re: Suction values jumpin around
So yes, you would tend to use it when running multiple compressors or a trim compressor.
