    Toshiba controller wont keep unit on!!!! :(



    I have a problem with a toshiba cassette. When i turn it on via the controller its stays on for about 5 secs then turns itself off again????? Am i being silly and missing something??? any help would be great. Cheers

    Sounds like you have a "centralised control" issue.

    Are you aware of any additional control devices fitted?

    external timer wired to the indoor unit on a volt free contact

    have you checked to see if ther is power to indoor unit

    I have a funny feeling it could be controlled by a bms shich may be why iyt turns itself off. I'm guna check if there's power to the indoor unit

    Your description sound very much like you have a timer interface card fitted to the indoor (accessory ref RBC-IT2-PE)
    Look at the indoor PCB and socket PJ06 or CN06 dependant on age of kit.
    Disconnect the plug from this socket, try the controller, you should then see the controller stays populated.
    The IT2 can be used for remote on/off or fire alarm shutdown etc. it can also be used for auto restart after power failure.
    I've fitted loads of these over tjhe years and have yet to have one fail, so you more that likely looking at the 230v.a.c live switching to the interface.
