Any compressor is going to be pricy, cheapest one would be a SIAM if they make them. Measure it up and see what actrol can do to match capacity and physical fitting.

as mentioned in another thread, LG compressors are the cheapest, but I don't know who sells them off the shelf by model number. To get one from LG you'd have to find the model number of a unit that had the compressor. Well that's the stage I ham at myself, so if anyone knows somewhere you can get an LG compressor wholesale just by the compressor model number, let me know too.

The money you will save on an alternative you will spend adapting to suit application. Bite the bullet and buy the actual replacement.
    Alternatives can be false economy.

At first I was surprised you hadn't heard of actrol.

Then I found out this is a second hand a/c you recently installed yourself but you don't know anything about air conditioning except what you installer electrician says.

I'd get a proffesional opinion rather than replace compressor, could be a restriction in the lines, TXV, strainer etc.
If it is indeed compressor, let them do the leg work to find out if possible to get a different compressor.

I have ended up with a genuine part $2.300. Old compressor started sounding very sick, the hot spell really sorted it out
The one good point is i have acquired a working knowledge of the machine.
