External heat with City Multi
We have a site with one PUHY outdoor unit and eight PDFY ducted units. Each PDFY has an attached hydronic coil. Each coil is controlled by a dedicated actuator on a centralized manifold. We are using PAC-YU24HT external heater adaptors on each indoor unit to call for hydronic heat.
The design is for the hydronic heat to be the primary heat source. The PUHY should either be the backup heat source (preferred) or not provide heat at all.
On the outdoor unit SW5-2 enables "backup heating", but we can't find a way to disable the heat pump or make it the backup.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

Re: External heat with City Multi
As far as I know we dont have any heating backup function on City Multi PUHY systems here in the UK.
So I suspect this is a USA special version.
Suggest request your Mitsubishi Electric supplier to engineer a solution for you.
