    Under the cap is a grub screw that locks the stator in position. Compressor looks like a Carrier 06E

    Hi its carrier 299 pw with a 40hp winding, you need a 1 1/8 or 27mm socket to open it and underneath it , it has a metal washer which is used to seal any leaks from the crankcase , the long nut screws on to a threaded grub screw which locates on the motor stator and stops it moving and also aligns it with the rotor
