recovering 410a from scroll

Hey new to the field and not sure on the best way to recover 410a should the compressor be out of the loop and just pull it as a liquid from the line set or what?

The system should be shut down, and all valves opened attach your gauges to high and low side ports if available then recover in the normal way. the refrigerant should be recovered out of the compressor too.

Along as your only pulling from the normal service ports you'll be fine you may get a small amount of oil but not enough to cause concern.

Hi I'm also new to recovering and am the proud owner of a new recovery unit.
It was supplied without a filter drier ? do I need one?
Can I use the recovery unit on 410a and r22 without cross contamination ?
Do i need 2 filter drier's (1 for each refrigerant)?
Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Always remember to use a filter-dryer or particulate filter
on your refrigerant recovery unit. It is also important
to us an acid core dryer when recovering from a burned-out
system. Acid and particulate matter will cause damage
to your refrigerant recovery system. If you use the
appropriate filter on every job, your refrigerant recovery
equipment should give you many years of trouble-free service. Each filter should be labeled and used exclusively
for one type of refrigerant only.

One filter is good for all the refrigerants but vacuum also always your recovery unit. Otherwise moisture and air inside the unit will be pushed to your recovering bottle. So if you vacuum, you will pull out also the 'old' refrigerant.
But replace it at regular intervals.
I used/demonstrated in the last 2 years more than two thousand times a recovering cycle (with 3 different brands and 5 units total)
In Europe, you must recover till 0.3 bar absolute, so there will be always moisture and air ingress into the unit when leaving it some time in your van.
