    Cornelias IACS224

I have a ice machine that I got on a deal. It was working just making ice slow. It took 45 minutes to cycle and it was only 75 deg outside. It takes R-404a and I cannot find anyone that will come charge it for less than $125. I dont have that much in the whole machine. So I have access to R-134 and R-22. Can I convert it over to one of these. It calls for 12 ounces of R-404 would it be the same? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

In short, the answer is NO.

The internal parts are engineered to work with R404a. The thermodynamic properties of the other refrigerants you have are totally different.

agree with frank, dont use these gases with this system, you will make it worse, have you tried cleaning the condenser, checking water supply ect?

I have cleaned the evaporator and condensor. It just takes to long to make ice. 45 minutes to dump one time. Just wandering if it takes this long now what will it do in the summertime. I will never get to go fishing waiting on ice.

Does the ice machine drop a full batch of correctly formed cubes?
If it does then I can't see it needing gas.

Pay the money to get it working correctly and you still have a cheap icemaker, problem solved. At the moment you have no ice and a worthless peice of equipment

The ice is a little hollow but it is ok. The bottom of coil makes ice pretty quick but the top takes forever.
