It would be helpfull to have more CLEAR information on F-gas cource.
For example can the existing old citb course be re registered untill June.
Do you have to do braizing if already have c & G or other course that included that or years experiance ?

What is difference CITB & CG course.

What if on agency work and altenate between refrigeration / heat pumps / commercial shops and same construction and other electro mechanical work .
It it c&g or CITB or both.

Might help to have some information as must be many confused service eng

Excuse any spelling or other mistakes as in public library & running out of time on computer.)Rushto finish )

    Paul.

1 Excisting qualification is valid until July 2011 (unless it is CITB and already lapsed if it is
lapsed it will need renewing soonest)

2 Brazing is just a very small part of the overall assessment and yes you do need to do it.
But it is one braze on 1/2" or 5/8" pipe thats all.

3 No differance between CITB and C&G except
    • CITB is renewable every 5 years (C&G is for life)
    • CITB is an open paper based exam (C&G is closed book on a PC)
4 Does not mater what trade, name or employment.

Each individual working on refrigeration systems must have the new Fgas qual
to work unsupervised from July 2011. To get on site (construction) you need one
of the quals (either will do) and then a passport to work card (CSCS??card)

    All the best

(C&G is for life) I believe should read 'for the life of the C&G course number'. Any changes to C&G standards can invalidate old certificates no no guarantees.

"Go on ask me more I'm on a roll"

OK, what are the winning Euro-Lottery numbers for the coming week?

I have been in this game for 23 years and have an old C&G certificate but I still had to take the new F-gas C&G course.
