Temp alarm required

Hello everyone,

We have been asked to look after a small walk in freezer (not installed by ourselfs) which has been causing a few problems recently. The first time it went off (gas leak) we were able to save the food, next time (another leak) was not so lucky as it was the weekend and no one was in that part of the building, everything had to be binned.

We have been asked to sort out the pipe work as the pipes have rubbed through both times and install a temperature alarm to the room which will alarm into a corridor and alert the security guard who can then inform the relevant person.

Can anyone suggest a sensibly priced alarm system which would be suitable?

you can get an carel for around £100 with ntc probe temp input with a high temp output try rs you might find thier own brand equvilent cheaper

fit a stat on the coldroom and a light/buzzer in the corridor . it will not cost that much !! keep it simple

Use an Eliwell/Dixell/Carel or similar to monitor the temperature.

Connect it to a simple lamp or if you want audible as well get an alarm beacon from someone like RS.

as tony says fit a simple ranco or danfoss stat to it add a flashing light or buzzer, costs about £30 all in and 45 mins to install, this i s much cheaper than the electronic route

Select an electronic controller with an alarm out put clean contact that can be connected to the security alarm, identify it as a temp alarm, and allow a 1 hour delay before alarming. Covers the problem when client is off site, and a whole lot cheaper that the greif of an insurance claim.
