    Compressor power?

    Hi, I need to cool 200 liter of water from 22°C down to 2°C in 2 hour time. How to determine how much BTU do I need in order to do that?

    Thanks in advance.

    mcΔt

    m=mass 200ltr
    c =1 for water
    Δt=22-2=20
    total capacity per hour = 200x1x20=4000kcal\2=2000kcal
    And thats equals about 8000btuh

    Q=mc(t2-t1) or Q= m*c* Δt
    Q=200*1(22-2)
    Q=200*20
    Q=4000 Kcal
    Q= 2000 Kcal/h

    Q = L/sec x specific heat x delta T 'K
    Q = 200/7200sec x 4.186 Kj/Kg' K x 20'K
    Q = 2.3256 Kw x 3517
    Q = 8178.97 Btus / hour
