    Refrigerant R22/R404A

    Hi to all

We normaly use Maneurop compressors, on this compressor
we can change the oil and let them run on R404A instead of
    R22.
Does anyone know if this is possible with. Lùnite compressors.
    The compressor is a Lùnite CAJ 9513 / R22

    Best regards

We have done it anyway but removing the oil of a UH is not that easy. Be carefull when turning upside down that compressor doesn't comes out of his inner suspension springs.

We even have applications where a R134a is running on R404a and vice versa but this was for special reasons.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

    Hello Carlo.

I once ordered a hermitique condensing unit on R22.The supplier told me that they were temporarily out of stock, But they had the equivelant unit on r 404a.

He then informed me that they were the same unit except one had mineral oil and the other synthetic.

Purchased the r404a unit and ran it on r22.No problems.

    Dear Carlo,
Just to inform you: you should not do this on a regular basis.
Maneurop states that "..Lifetime reduction shall be expected.." (what ever it means) when using R404A in a R22 compressor (with ester oil).
There are some (minor) differences between the MTZ (for R404A) and MT (for R22) compressors like : other piston rings, stainless steel valves, ...
