    LG Fault Code

Brand new 2.6 Kw LG High Wall heat pump invertor install.
    Model Number SO9AW

On start up liquid Expansion Device, located directly behind compressor, humms and attempts to energise, hammering in and out a few times.

Compressor locks out.....fan does not operate.

Compressor winding check out again. 1 Ohm

    Board LED flashes 10 times

Error code is high pressure thermistor which is fixed to discharge pipe.

Why is this expansion device hammering in and out??

Is it just a thermistor fault??

Should I ask LG to supply all electronic kit, inc pcb board?
As it is a brand new installation............

    or........another outdoor unit??

    Hi Abe,

Get a starting capacitor, SPP-8 from Supco.
There is no 1 phase notor that will not jump and run when you use this monster unless it totaly gone..........

Chemi being an inverter isn't it a 3 phase motor?

Discharge pipe thermistor fault. I'll go for PCB if fault is occuring straight away.

Aiyub check resistance of thermistor and compare it to chart from LG(Assuming you can get information from them. ).

    Aiyub.

Found some info on LG inverters may be relevant to unit that you are working on.

    Error Code.
    10

    The cause of malfunction.
Comp. dome TH is short or open.

    Malfunction indicator.
The LED01M will be blinking 10 times.

    The operating state.
Compressor will be turned off immediately.

The problem of missing the connector(OUTDOOR MAIN PCB ASSY).

    Connectors
    CN-COMP.

    Condition
    OPEN/SHORT.

    Problem(Error Mode).
    *The LEDO1K blinks 10 times.
*Continous Comp. operation (when the discharge pipe thermistor opens).
*Stop Comp. operation (when the discharge pipe thermistor shorts).

(You can read Jenglish cant you?)

The only information that I could find on thermistor values is that the indoor temp sensor is 10K at 25 deg C.But discharge pipe thermistor will probably be different value.

I know that the Daikins that I have worked on that give you a discharge pipe thermistor fault if it is not a refrigeration system fault, it usually ends up a problem with the PCB. I cant remember ever having to change a thermistor.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: LG Fault Code

I have a fault CH 33 on a LG ducted split meaning compressor is overheating, i noticed that there is poor cooling returning to the compressor due to restriction on the 2 LEV's, i suspect the LEV's have lost there setting and are not opening or closing as they should, any one know how to reset the LEV's to the correct position?
