Setting the overload on a bitzer
Hi my question today is what the right way is to set the overload on a reciplicating compressor that only gives the Max operationg amps.3phase motors
I know with an electrical motor you use the motor amps(or delta) / by root 3.But in refrigeration its not always the same because of the vairible sucion pressure..Is their a formula that you can use with the vairible pressures or do you check the operating amps + 10%?

Re: Setting the overload on a bitzer
Say your compressors max current is 8A per phase then i would set the overloads for a bit more e.g. 10% over that, you would need to check with the overload manufacturers if their scale already takes the % into acount.
