york chiller Solid state starter starting current
Hi all. I 'm new at this site. I need your helps.
I want to know
How much current is occur when I start York 400t chiller with solid state starter.
chiller spec says that the rated amps is around 300A, but when I start it, it looks like use much more than 300A.
Anybody know about starting current, please help me

You need to check the motor datasheet and look for the Locked Rotor amps value (LRA). A typical solid state starter inrush will in the 45 to 50% of the LRA value

most soft starters have adjustable ramp up times. DOL starting is something like 10 times the LRA.
