Have a dxs45 compressor running very hot along bottom of compressor, even into the suction end. Oil filter has been changed. Im at 75 steps and have 10vdc to cap valve. My fla% is 47 and 91A. After a hour runtime oil level is just into bottom SG on separator. Subcooling is around 12 to 14 superheat is 9 to 12 that looks ok. Chiller has been neglected for a couple years. New account, dont know how long it has ran like this. May be seals or just low on oil. Any insight?

Re: york
compressor fully loaded at 75 steps, your %FLA would be a lot higher, your compressor is not loading properly.
Check at start up is the compressor fully loaded, some older units had the capacity control solenoids mixed up, they started fully loaded then unloaded as demand increased, otherwise check the solenoid for operation and that your oil filter is not blocked.

Re: york
Could be the capacity control solenoid stem or even the cc spring broken, check the CDTP pressure, (access valve below data plate), should be 1.2*suction pressure - if the actual pressure is greater than the calculated pressure then chances are its internal mechanics that have failed
