    Unhappy suction line frost



    sir,
    in spilt unit suction line getting frost some time, but some time it"s running normal. gas charge is normal and evaporator coil is clean,room temperature also normal

    Frost comes from ambient air due to cold pipework.

    I'd say that it is possible the a/c runs for extended periods and without regular off cycles ( only if it is not the variable speed type), it can temporarily ice the evaporator. Why? Could be set too low temperature or has a high heat load.. mike.
