    Technical details on Refrigerant



    Hello All,
    please kindly inform the details on choosing refrigerant for air conditioning and refrigerant applications (irrespective of regulations, considering only technical aspects).

    1. what is the typical choice of refrigerant for air conditioning and reasons for it.
    2. waht is the typical choice of refrigerant for refrigeration and reasons for it.

    The choice is generally made by referring to the temperatures that you want to achieve.

    With packaged AC units it is decided by the manufacturer.

    1) R410A, R134A, R407C
    2) R404A, R507A, R717, R744

    Brian already answered for the technical reason. Basicly, what we want to achieve is the highest possible evaporating pressure compared to the evaporating temperature, to reduce the compression ratio and the compression heat as much as possible.
