Re: What did we do today?
We had a 5.6 on the rector scale earthquake for a few seconds in Pretoria for a few seconds today. This is rare. Otherwise I was doing paperwork the whole day.

Re: What did we do today?
did 3 lil jobs round manchester, spent over 30 quid in parking, jumped in van at china town ncp, and flat battery- due to when loadin up tools, it started lashing it down,so hid in the van for 10-13 mins with indoor blowers on, paid me 18 quid parking- and flat battery, all clock reverted back to the yr 2000!, 90 min wait for AA to zap me, whilst it lashed it down again, then long drive home to try and charge it, see what happens tomorrow!

Re: What did we do today?
Removed a OEM pco3 controller from a Hi-Ref unit because it was failing to see the 4-20ma signal from the hp pressure transducer. One cant get pco3 controllers from carel these days because they have since upgraded to pco5+. Only the original manufacturers of equipment fitted with pco3controllers will give you these controllers. Usually one will pay an arm and a leg.

Re: What did we do today?
Well...i see your problem "PRESS" and i give you my task
This is just a 26 KW semi that has been in storage, without a holding charge for a FEW years. Unknown history. ????
Run the lines and the Sparky's will run the cables..says management.
Money is not an issue here. My invoices to this company are always paid on time...so why should i worry if this damn thing is seized.

Re: What did we do today?
Dont worry mikeref just do it. money is good at whatever cost. remember to put in your warranty a clause which will protect you from unforeseen issues like the condition of the unit.

Re: What did we do today?
Today I interviewed a potential employee, he didn't want to participate in the call rota, so he got told where to go( in the nicest possible way, who does this bloke think he is?) these gas engineers can be quite fickle! Checked in on a PPM to see how the lads were getting on, picked up my vauxhall insignificant after it's broken rad was sorted(13 plate???) then got a call from out of hours to an ac call. Sorted that then home to reply to the days emails, dish out the work for tomorrow to the lads. Day done at 9pm. This HVAC was supposed to be less hours than fridge!!!

Re: What did we do today?
Today I interviewed another potential candidate for one of the positions I have open. He fits the bill perfectly. Went to an AC call at a petrol station, no fault found!! Then went to my storage lockup to get some parts for an outstanding job. Next stop coventry for a store with no hot water, bloody push top tap stuck down drained the immersion heater. Time to stop then and hit the admin for a couple of hours before attending college to resit my electrical. Wales tomorrow on a ppm... I've a feeling it's gonna be a busy winter!!!!

Re: What did we do today?
Off to Newtown Powys today to one of my newly acquired sites, two and a half hours from home! Met my improver on site for a productive day, site surveying, asset listing and starting the cooling side ppm (not long now till I'm gas safe!) gave the guy I interviewed yesterday the job, I like to give people a chance who seem genuine, so Tuesday I have a new all rounder on board to alleviate the 88 ppm backlog!! Ppm on eight splits and two Weatherites done, asset listed and surveyed. Long day there!!! Found a daikin twin split rzq140 with two fan blades attached with screws from the casing???? Who the hell was working this site previous to us??? Got a call for Telford saying the bakery extract had gone down, looks like it hadn't ran in years!!! Wired up the back up motor then back home to answer the days emails and dish out the work for Friday, 2145 day ended.... Back to Newtown tomorrow to finish off! Can't wait to do a 0730 till 1700 days work

Re: What did we do today?
Back to Newtown today, two daikin outdoor unit fan motors on the car to replace two remco jobbies that were wired direct to the unit terminal board!!! Shocking stuff!! That cured the e7 on the unit, staff were happy after 2 years of it being out of service. On then to the PFS to a MHI outdoor unit fully caked up. Massive cage around it too, so with that cleaned up I just did some service reports and dropped in at my lockup to drop some gear off so the car is Empty for the weekend, even tho I'm on call AGAIN!! Can't beat being a supervisor, you get all the perks!!!!

Re: What did we do today?
640 miles round trip to Edinburgh, an overnight stop, 14 hours driving and 30 minutes on site to diagnose and then adjust the air gap on a Hall Sensor - lost part of my Bank holiday Monday as well to do this :-(

Re: What did we do today?
Modifying units for the last two days, cutting out flares to allow brazed connections, not an easy job on a cassette in situ, cutting up new units?? Seems bonkers!! Not a bad couple of days work tho!!

Re: What did we do today?
Picked up an old 1940's/50's chest freezer to see if i can get it working again, the compressor still runs but has stopped pumping.
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

Re: What did we do today?
A day of PPM today on the cooling side, can be good some days, just today it was soul destroying. On the other hand tho I got an interview with a chiller company. Clouds and silver linings etc. etc.

Re: What did we do today?
Best of luck with that one MS. If it was running R12...and has a standing gas pressure that corresponds to ambient temperature, then i would not try running it on R134a after a compressor swap. Best use R600a with a Hydrocarbon certified Compressor......Guess you would already know that so i'll just let myself out.
