    Display problem with Samsung RS60

    Hi all

Just returned from 2 week holiday to find our Samsung RS60 (RS60JJSM) fridge freezer display showing 88 88 (the last 8 blinking in its bottom right portion). The Our neighbours tell us that there was a power cut in the area and I'm guessing that maybe a pcb has been upset by the power outage. The unit appears to be freezing/fridging ok at the moment.
I have called Samsung support, but they have just directed me to a local company as it is out of warranty.
Can anyone help me with :

What is the error showing on the display (88 88)
Is there a standard reset for this.
If it is the pcb is it easily accessible and can I buy replacement to fit myself.

    Many thanks

Re: Display problem with Samsung RS60

Traditionally, and I'm no longer an expert on samsung, the lower RHS segment on the figure 8 was open circuit defrost or sensor fault, not PCB.

You could take a gamble on it being the PCB, but it may be a waste of time and money if it's the defrost circuit faulty.

And to me and to everyone else familiar with samsung, the defrost circuit failing happens more frequently.
