    o rings



    replacing the o ring in a carlyle screw compressor , cant get one in anytime soon . we've decided to make our own . our question is , what material do we use for R134a . the o ring is used to seal the motor cover to the compressor

    There is a different substance that do job even better.

    Its Teflon wire, I use it all the time to seal large drier covers, compressor discharge and suction valves.

    I have found the manufacturer website for you, get a roll of the material, it is very useful for any sealing job.

    Google search says HNBR material which can be hard to get in a variety of sizes .
