Frost Free Refrigerator/Freezer
Hi
I noticed in a friends frost free fridge freezer (westinghouse, 90s) that the fridge compartment's temp. controlled a damper. There is also a stat probe in this area. The freezer has a stat also. Does this mean that the fridge's damper opens and closes as needed or does the probe in the fridge just there as a dummy?
Only the freezer stat starts the unit up. The fan doesn't start when the fridge would normally need cooling (maybe cool air flows naturally when the fan isn't running?)

Re: Frost Free Refrigerator/Freezer
the frost free freezer's evap fan will be forcing the refrigerated air into the fridge direction. with out the fan the freezer will be the only part being refrigerated. the fridge part will just have a damper and will cycle on the frezers depended temps. hope this helps
