lighting contractor

Please could i ahve some advice.

I'm a lighting engineer working self employeed. I have been asked by many refridgeation guys and compnaies about fixing lighting for them so they can get on with other jobs.

I carry 30k worth off stock in my van i always have the gear or can get it the same day.

1. do you think it can work.
2. will it say you guys money.

If you wish to advertise your business, then pay to do so like everyone else.
Personally if a site I am visiting is dimly lit.
I speak to the site personnel about improving it.
As it not my responsibility but the sites.
So you would not be getting any work from me.

that's a bit harsh Grizzly is it not? i think the guy is asking a genuine question, i cant see anywhere in the post where he has said his company name or location, as someone myself who tries to operate in the comercial and supermarket sector, there is nothing worse than having your engineers tied up for hours trying to sort out difficult lighting faults then phone you up saying it needs an electrician, if you have a good spark who has good stock and you can trust then this is worth its weight in gold, and as for advertising just surf the posts in the supermarket and chit chat and stories section and im sure you will find lots of posts of people promoting thier buisness and touting for work or using the forum to give there produsts exposure, cut the guy some slack and leave those types of coments for the moderators.

Yes I was Harsh and maybe I was just a tad to sinical.
But given the above statement can you blame me?
Even by your own words there is a all to common theme!
In fairness I did go on to explain that "When we work on customers sites the lighting is not our responcibility. "
By Law it is the owner of the site is it not?
Or does it depend upon the maintenance contract you have?

To answer his question further.
Even if he was "Brilliant". I would not be able to employ him.
Unless he was alredy on the prefered supplier list!
Sadly small or one man band businesses.
Are not an option we can choose.

As for leaving the comments for modderators..
They have been slagged recently for not critisising enough!
Personnaly I can accept your critisism and accept your point.
I shall try and be fairer in future!

I was not asking for work just asking if you guys have issues with lighting and would it be a good idea to use others
I used to work for a very big maintenance firm and I was a senior operations manager. I can see where the big companies are going wrong.

It takes some time but it worth the effort.

If you cant figure out whether to "write" or to " call" then I think you got some problems marketing wise.

You got a service, you got to sell it, identify who you want to sell it to, find them, see them, beg, plead, pitch, do what ever necessary to get a sale.
