    Phase Change Material

    Hi..

I want to know more about this technology. Can we use this technology supermarket (open refrigerator) to reduce the power consumption or it's simply storage of energy and overall power consumption remains same...

    Regards,
    Keyur

I think that you need to do some reading on this subject.

I Was busy for some time with PCM's but I don't see an application in supermarkets. It's more for energy storage

    Re: Phase Change Material

I don't see the similarity between the 2 products: a heat pipe transfers the heat from one place or material tot another place/material while PCM stores energy using the latent heat of the PCM.

    Hi Keyur,

I'm pretty sure that PCM can be effectively used in an open supermarket refrigerators. This way you'll be able save energy, shift the peak load and probably reduce the size of refrigerating equipment.
Flat panels can be layered on the bottom of the refrigerator, some cover on top and then meat or seafood.
What is the temperature in the refrigerator?
Inorganic non-toxic PCM00P or PCM07N (free advert removed)
    PCM00P - phase change at 0C,
    PCM07N - phase change at -7C.
