    screw compressor failure

what is the percenatge rate of failure of screw compressor?

we have a screw compressor that was working under 73% load with 9.3 C suction super heat , is it a propable reason of failure

    Re: screw compressor failure

Maybe 1%-5% if still in time life (10 years +/-), and if the refrigeration circuit is working fine. Also electrical part is very important, always garantee that you have 400V +-10% (or 600inEUA) and had a good manteinance to contactors.

The information you give is very vague its impossible to expect something. 9,3ºC is a normal SH.
What kind of failure it had? electrical or mechanical?

if that is a low temp compresor 9.3 although a little lower is still ok.refrigeration load is ok.maintaining a normal life span of a compresor wheather reciprocating or screw involves preventive works on mechanical and electrical side of the system.

    Re: screw compressor failure

The rate of failure of any compressor is directly proportional to the design of the system and the technician working on the system!

What is the suction/discharge pressure/temperature? What type of refrigerant? What type of application?
If we can get information, we can start helping.
