Thumbs down Swimming pool enery saving

My business is disinfection of public swimming pools in Belgium. I have a client with 2 pools. One of 80M3 which he uses and below it another smaller pool of 20-30M3 which he does not use as it is bother and expense. He also has a high heating bill. My thinking is that he might use the lower pool to store heat. The heat from the lower pool can only rise to the upper pool. His current method of keeping the humidity level down in the upper pool is to open the skylight above it which he does summer and winter.
His heating bill are high which is no surprise.

Would it be a good idea to put a dehumidifier which puts the heat into the lower pool and a control to release the stored heat through an exchanger to the larger pools circulation system as it is required.

If this is likely to save energy there is a subsidy in Belgium. I am open to commercial suggestion.

Does this sound like a task or does it sniff of fantasy?

    Re: Swimming pool enery saving

    Hi there,

I used to work as a pool manager at our public swimming pools.
All we did to control the humidity was to keep the room temperature close to the water temperature and use an AHU to recycle and mix fresh air into the indoor air. We never had any problems.
To increase the efficency we had gas engines to provide heating for the pool and the DHW and also generate power to run the pumps and lights.
I don't think a dehumidifier would be a good idea as it cools the air down slightly.
    Hope that helps,

    Sumsor
