the most interesting thing i find about these is how mind numblingly boring they are...I really really struggle to maintain interest in quesions as fascinating as -

if jill is taller than ann is an apple an orange??..

    hence my 126 score...

    cheers

one for all you saddo's then-

I am real and do exist.
In a world of straight lines and corners
    I feel at risk.
    I make no pledges
    For I have no edges.
In any argument I can only take one side
In truth I have nothing to hide.
    What am I?

    here is a clue.

    (x2 + y2 + z2 + 2y – 1)[( x2 + y2 + z2 - 2y – 1)2 – 8z2] + 16xz(x2 + y2 + z2 - 2y – 1) = 0

    cheers

    Hi Marc

This time it didn't have any of the questions I consider too ambiguous or too subjective.
What - even the one about Jill and Ann

    1200/3=400
    1200/12=100
    1200*3=3600
none of the other numbers give such results for the three combinations

He likes squares. 900 is a square, 1200 is not.

How much time are you supposed to give yourself with the test? I try to select the first intuitively correct answer and then of course quickly move on. To get questions like the one above correct I would have pause and go into a form of dedicated thought doing a bit of calculation and thought experimentation.
Obviously time is important, that’s why it doesn't make much sense to compare results from the net where the tests are not timed.

Anyway, you have some time, and instantly you look for patterns. In a number sequence, if the first number is a known prime, you check for primes. If the first is a known square, you check for squares, if the second is one third of the first you check for that.

Checking for all the usual suspect doesn't take time as this is done automatically. If the answer does come almost instantly, you can decide to rely on your intuition.

But what is intuition? The brain recognizes a pattern, you don’t see? This is certain to fail in cases like this. This is a calculated, constructed example, which doesn't lend itself to intuition.

It is my experience anyway, if I don’t see the pattern in this types of test, I likely get it wrong.

I remember reading that the best way to fire up an entp is to say a problem is unsolvable or best get some one else to solve it..

it's amazing how some react to type ;-))

    Re: I.Q.Test

I love this thread. I learned a lot.

The most important criterion in diagnosing a man as learning disabled is the IQ test. The aim of an IQ test is to measure the intelligence of a man, which supposedly is an indication of the human's potential.
