I have a Heat Pump that will kick off on high pressure even after the coils were cleaned any advice? This is a packaged unit 2 1/2 ton.

Airflow, fan running correct way, blade fitted right way round and correct blade for unit, unit overcharged, or non condesables in system. Faulty hp switch.
Restricted discharge pipework or stuck reversing valve.

Think if you were trying to make something go out on hp, how would you do it? then check through the most likely to the least likely.

If you can check the pressure either side of the rv then you will know for sure.

Have you tried it in heating and cooling mode? And does it trip in both modes?

    Re: Payne HP

Not yet I've recovered refrigerant in order to dehydrate and straightened some coil fins but I have to run some power to unit. I bought it for 300 dollars and figured if I had to change rv it would still be a good buy only about 3 or 4 years old
