Evap valve
Guys, I'm pretty new in here...I have a system where there is a pilot operated solenoid valve fitted as a bypass between evaporator inlet and outlet..the pilot line is led from the expansion valve before the evap..any ideas why such a solenoid valve?? I feel that this bypass valve could result in liquid refrigerant coming to the compressor suction...whadya all ?/think

Re: Evap valve
Sounds like an externally equalized expansion valve, if the pilot solenoid is 3 ported with a line back to liquid line, then it forces the TXV closed by putting liquid onto TXV to close it.
