Advice needed over HND refrigeration and air conditioning course at university

Hi all, im currently a time served air conditioning engineer at a fairly large company in the northwest. (15 engineers) I am qualified to NVQ Level 3 in air conditoning. have all the city and guilds certificates an am f gas qualified also. Im a engineer on the road as many others but im 22 and already thinking i would like to achieve more from live and do different things. I have applied for the HND course at a uni specialising in refrigeraiton and air conditioning and awaiting response to my application. I was wondering if anyone had done the courses, is doing the course and had any thoughts, or job prospects once completing the course.
I would be very greatful for your infomation, thoughts and help.
    Thanks Dan

Hi Dan, if you don't mind me asking where are you thinking of taking it?

I was thinking of it last year but could only find Grimsby or Bath that were offering it and as both were over 2 hours away i decided against it for the mean time.

Also would you be doing it 1 day a week or distance learning?

Places throughout the UK are limited and you will need to commit a day a week for the duration.

It is the next logical stage though and at 22 you have pleanty of time to complete it.

It is modular and you do so many units towards the overall award so you could do distance learning if you want but the support will be in the college.

HNC / HND will be used for design and management so if you are aiming to move into design, commisioning, management and such like HNC / HND is the way to go.

You can never be over qualified and if you never use the qual it will always be yours and benifit you.

    All the best
