    Foster on R290

We have to look at a Foster upright on R290. Can we remove it and replace with something else?

(We know about the training issue)

Officially, i know someones going to come up with a reason why it should but weve all seen it done and NORMALLY it works ok. all you can do is give the customer the facts and let them decide, if anything happens afterwards its down to them

Following on from that ive seen MANY old R12 chest freezers that have had 134 put in and they are still going. Shouldnt work (Oil difference) but it does

So would an R502 drop in be a better bet with oil compatability? (compared to R404A which i think you were implying)

    What about a R12 drop - in replacement like R406A or R409A?

First of all depends on what oil is in the system, if POE maybe R134a or Mineral oil R406a / R409a (i would use R406)

    Good luck
