    Unhappy safe ammonia storage

What is the safe temperature / pressure at which to store ammonia? (ICE PLANT / REFRIGERATION)?

Can't seem to find the answer to this question, most i see is the critical temp and pressure of ammonia.

    Please help, badly needed.

    Re: safe ammonia storage

Your ammonia storage tank shall be safe as long as you follow the approved standards and design specifications for Ammonia Handling and Containment.
To give you an idea, liquid and gas ammonia expand and contract with changes in pressure and temperature.
For example, if liquid anhydrous ammonia is in a partially filled, closed container and it is heated from 0°F to 68°F, the volume of the liquid will increase by about 10 percent. If the tank is 90 percent full at 0°F, it will become 99 percent full at 68°F. At the same time, the pressure in the container will increase from 16 psi to 110 psi. Therefore, it is advisable to keep your tank at low pressure, low temperature and low liquid level to have max. safety especially in old tanks & devices.
    goodluck.

    Re: safe ammonia storage

Storage at ambient out of direct sunlight, as per Orica/ BOC instructions on every bottle.
