changing line set
Is it mandatory to replace the line set if your replacing the a coil and condensor and going from r22 to r410a? I've heard conflicting answers. Thanks for the help!

Re: changing line set
If i was putting a system in for myself i would run a new line set, i would prefer to run a new line set on customers work too, but often they only look at the price.
Is it mandatory? No, Is it advisable? Yes.

Re: changing line set
Also depends on the quality of the existing pipework, is it suitable for the potential higher pressure?

Re: changing line set
Kssoin, you can find this pressure in a log p/h chart of R410a, almost double.
Will yu not change the compressors?
If you perform after your job a pressure test on 1.1 x the max pressure your R410a system ever will see and it withstands this test pressure, well, then you can let your system run on the old pipework. It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
