Hotpoint FFA71 Compressor running continuously
Afternoon,
My Hotpoint FFA71 has recently started making a lot of gurgling and whooshing noises. Also, the compressor runs almost 24 hrs a day and when I just pulled it out, it was very hot to touch. The fridge and freezer compartments are both at the right temperature and the fan in the freezer is working. I have checked the fridge drain hole which is fine and none of the lights are on. It's about 6 years old. Any ideas or is this just normal???!!!
Many thanks.

Re: Hotpoint FFA71 Compressor running continuously
Likely to be a refrigerant loss, might be worth an engineers visit,or do you cut your losses. 50/50.

Re: Hotpoint FFA71 Compressor running continuously
Thanks for that. Can a fridge be re-gassed in the same way as a car air-con system and what's the likely cost?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Hotpoint FFA71 Compressor running continuously
would keep temp for a while...untill it runs out more..anti condensation line is the normal suspect for leaks, can be bypassed to extend the life
