    Defrost timer connection Beko CDA543F

Hi everyone! I am trying to replace defrost timer on my Beko CDA543F. The old one literally burn down after defrost hose at the top section become and water was dripping into the box. I have ordered new one, tested as advised on various sites and trying to connect. Am I right to understand that wiring on the fridge are as follows: red-line, black-compressor, white-common, yellow-heater? I have tried to connect in that order but it does't seem to have any effect. For a time been I have wired together red and black to make compressor run and manually switching off fridge 2-3 times a day. What do I miss?

When you fit the timer manually advance it ,it could be in the defrost position.Wiring diagram is usually printed on the side of the timer.
You should be able to trace the heater wires.
