Max discharge temperatur
Helo
Which is max. discharge and compressor temperatur for refrigant R22 and Copland scroll compressor without eny damage for compressor?
I make heatpump whit old part of air condition but discharhe temp. is very high (110C) and compressor temp. is about 100C. Discharge presure is cca 22 bar, suction presure cca 5 bar.
Expansion valve : TIEHW100
Cage assembly : TIO-003
Txy for any info...

Re: Max discharge temperatur
If you remain inside the compressor operating window provided by the compressor manufacturer, then you should have a reasonable system life.

Re: Max discharge temperatur
I suggest you get a copy of the compressor performance specification from the manufacturer & check whether you are operating inside their recommended window.
If in doubt, contact their technical representative.Engineering Specialist - Cuprobraze, Nocolok, CD Technology

Re: Max discharge temperatur
in my humble opinion a standard compressor designed for cool-only applications is not going to be happy very long in a high-temp heat pump environment.

Re: Max discharge temperatur
cadillackid is right, it is not healthy for a compressor designed for cooling to have a discharge temp. as high as 110deg.C.,then your disharge pressure should be in the range of 240-260 psi,and can make it lower if you want subcooling.,but still it depends on the system design.

Re: Max discharge temperatur
Hi Glavca,
That compressor isn't a copeland scroll. It's a Toshiba rotary single phase.
If I recall the usual trip temperature for Toshiba R22 systems is about 130C. So your 110C is very close to tripping.
But a more nomal running condition would be 65-80C.
A lot depends on the condition of the system, air flow and ambient temperature etc etc.
Toshiba part number is 43041837.
The power consumption figure sounds right as they were fitted into AC systems of about 4.5kW output.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Re: Max discharge temperatur
Your discharge temperature is high because your suction superheat is high or compressor is damaged.
Your discharge superheat is 52K (110 °C - 58°C for 22 bar of R22) which is high. It should be around 30K.
What is your evaporator superheat and suction/total superheat? Describe your unit assembly.

Re: Max discharge temperatur
As nike has said, I would suggest that the OP provide more detail on his heat-pump system, together with a set of system measurements.
The water-heating ramp should also be explained ie. is this a circulating system, or straight-through?
If it's straight-through & you are operating continuously at Tc,disch ~ 110'C, on a rotary compressor, then you will in all likelihood have compressor reliability problems.
Details on your evaporator & condenser will be useful inputs to the discussion.Engineering Specialist - Cuprobraze, Nocolok, CD Technology

Re: Max discharge temperatur
Heloo again...
at first, I make eksperimental sistem for my self at free time. I get some compressor free
I found truble, it is gas leaking... Now i have discharge temperature about 90C. System work very nice, it is silen and consum about 2200w. I have not yet time to make evaporation regulation, i make temporary termostat and this shut down evaporation fan when discharge temperature go uper then 90C.
Is possible make problem high outside temperature (about 10°C ) ? I guess in winter i dont have problem with superheat ?
I have 2 indor unit for cooling house , 1 big outdor evaporator, 1 smal outdor subcondenzator, on water tank (1000l) go first cros flate exchanger (uper part tank) then on below part on tank (50m cuper pipe). If dosnt cool enough (in sumer, when is tank full of hot water) go cros outside heat exchanger...
In other word: I summer i cool hous and warm water, in winter heat water with outside heat exchanger in same system.
one more gusetion---
How can i calculate best quantity refrigerant ? Now i put inside about 2kg (factory on Aircondition has been 1.8kg) ?
tnx for any information...
