    R407c top up.

Hello all, I would like to find out two things, first is it possible to "top up" an R407c system in liquid form due to the refrigerant being a mixture of three different gases?

The second question is linked to the above question, would an unbalanced R407c system cause a heat exchanger on the condensor side of a printing press chilling unit to burst? It is running two ZR11 M3 scrolls in parrallel?

    Regards,

    Shannon.

When R407C leaks, you can end up with a "refrigrant mix" with operating pressures similar to R410A. It is not practical to determine the remaining refrigerant and is usually best to reclaim and start again with new refrigerant. As to the bursting problem, that could be due to the previously mentioned high pressures or may be somethingn unrelated.
Check the rating plate on the heat exchanger and compare with R410A head pressures, which could easily be up to possibly 450-500 psig. Pesumably the heat exchanger has water as one of the medium, check the circulation pumps or pipework for a partial blockage. Make sure that you have identified and rectified the cause before fitting a new heat exchanger, or the same problem could re-occur.

R407C gas loss supplements are not due to the fact that you do not know what will fill the component and the reason is that this is a dissection in the gas cylinder.
Please remove the old fill factor and re-checking system overheating and evaporation.
