R22 - R417 (RetroFit) Screw set A.C

Hi, Im from Atlantic Refrigeration Based in the Uk,


We have been doing a number of Retrofits on Ships and Land based work, but Had alot of problems with these Two Screw sets on this Ship.


They have a Semi Screw and a Direct Drive Screw set



Problem is that the system runs and then goes out on Oil Flow Failure yet we have Changed oil , Changed oil Filters 6 times on the Semi Set.

The First time we changed the oil filter after having the problem we removed the filter and their was alot of debree.

Replaced the filter and ran yet same problem oil flow failure.


Even the Bigger plant which is the Direct drive Screw set , goes out on oil Flow failure.


They oil was changed to icematic 68.


If anyone has an idea that would help us out alot.

What type of screw are they?

Same question, what make/type of screw compressor?

Stupid question, is the solenoid valve in the oil line in a good working condition?

Another question, is the oil flow switch and control in a good working condition?

What is the oil pressure?

We need more data!

Another questions comes up, why Icematic 68? What type of refrigerant?

Normally screw compressors uses a very thick type of oil.
