Whirpool American. F/F problem

Have a mirrored whirlpool American fridge freezer - side by side....it has a water and ice dispenser. The ice dispenser is nolonger working. The ice maker part is still working - but we have to open the freezer door and take the ice out of the dispenser box now - as when we push the dispenser it doesn't even make a noise anymore - (its not even trying to start dispensing) let alone pushing the ice out...

water dispenser is fine.

any ideas please? This was an ex*****ve fridge and is a few months out of warranty - so we're well cheesed off...is it perhaps something electrical within the freezer as it isn't even "turning over" if you like...it's dead... ((

Could be the auger motor has jammed and burnt out? Seen that a couple of times with these. Also, control pcb' are not the world's most reliable....
