    help!thermosyphon oil cooling
Now I am designing a propane thermosyphon oil cooling, but I don't know how to caculate the liquid line Diameter from the receiver tho the heat exchanger.According with the IR hand book.the pressure gradient for this pipe are 22.6pa/m for R22.What's the means of pressure gradient?and how to caculate the Diameter by the pressure gradient.

    Re: help!thermosyphon oil cooling

The pressure gradient is the pressure drop per unit of length of pipe.

The first step is to calculate the required flow rate required by your oil cooling requirement. Times your recirculation rate.

Next step is to find the viscosity valves of your refrigerant.

Next is to calculate the “head loss” of this flow rate though various pipe sizes. Choose the pipe size that has less than or equal to your desired pressure gradient.
