    Help!!! In search of GM compressor parts



    Hi to all,
    Im in process of restoring an old refrigerator "Frigidaire" and everything works fine exept as usual the shaft seal of the compressor is leaking.I know it's a long shot but anyone have an idear or better a seal? Thanks for helping out.

    I think some of those early compressor seals could be laped on a sheet of glass with some special cutting paste to get them to seal again, but i'd wait for some one who has experience in doing this before attempting, as the guy who told me about it may have been talking out his a$$

    I've taken it a part and nothing much I can do to restore the seal...Too old!

    have you contacted seal manufacturers?its more than likely that one can be found to fit but you will have to modify the face plate or have one turned up to suit if a bellows type seal is fitted.
