Dynamic modeling and Simulation program
CoolPack is a collection of simulation models for refrigeration systems. The models each
have a specific purpose e.g. cycle analysis, dimensioning of main components, energy
analysis and -optimization.
The following page contains links to software developed
at ME department at Tech.Denmark University. Click Coolpack.exe link in the following page:
http://j.mp/Coolpack-1-48
Dowload software and read more about the following simulation purposes:
• Calculation of refrigerant properties (property plots, thermodynamic & thermophysical
data, refrigerant comparisons)
• Cycle analysis – e.g. comparison of one- and two-stage cycles
• System dimensioning – calculation of component sizes from general dimensioning
criteria
• System simulation – calculation of operating conditions in a system with known
components
• Evaluation of operation – evaluation of system efficiency and suggestions for reducing
the energy consumption
• Component calculations – calculation of component efficiencies
• Transient simulation of cooling of an object – e.g. for evaluation of cooling down

Re: Dynamic modeling and Simulation program
Actually, Coolpack 1.48 is available from the developer's site.

Re: Dynamic modeling and Simulation program
What are the additional features you discovered desA?
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Re: Dynamic modeling and Simulation program
From above link...
"Originally, it was programmed in Pascal but the present release is updated to Delphi. So far we have included one transient element: simulation of the cooling of an object with the possibility of applying an on/off control of the compressor."Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Re: Dynamic modeling and Simulation program
I never ran this feature on Coolpack and I even don't know why it can be used practically. Too many variables are unknown - at least for me- or uncertain and the way you stock an item in a coldroom is extremely important t o find the cool-down time. Or how the flow pattern over the product is also such a factor difficult to calculate.
If we need a calculation to cool or freeze something down within a given time, we always test it in a real life situation with a lot of loggers all over the place and in the product.Last edited by Peter_1; 05-04-2010 at 07:34 PM.
