Zanussi fridge-freezer ZNB 3240
Hello
We have had a Zanussi fridge-freezer ZNB 3240 for 3 years. It is now generating a loud vibrating noise at the back of the freezer unit. Ice has also formed on the top freezer drawer. Would you be able to advise please, thanks Silvia

Re: Zanussi fridge-freezer ZNB 3240
Hi.
Sounds like there is an accumulation of frost that is impeding the evaporator fan rotation.
Is there any chance someone has left the door slightly ajar for a length of time?
If not, you may have a sticking defrost timer. That isn't uncommon on these ones.

Re: Zanussi fridge-freezer ZNB 3240
Hello Bobby
Thank you for your reply. No, we haven't left the door ajar lately, so it must be the "sticking defrost timer". I'm not a technical person at all, so does this mean that we need to replace the timer, or perhaps we need to unstick it? If the latter, how do we do it please?
We'll also defrost it for 24 hours tomorrow; see what happens.
Many thanks in advance, Silvia

Hi. Silvia.
The timer would indeed need to be replaced.

Hi
We have had the same problem. Switching off the frinze freezer overnight and cleaning it has worked for us. Clean the back of the fridge with a vaccum cleaner, collect condensation by dipping an obsorbant cloth, (assist it with a long thin stick or something to that effect), until all water it collected and the water tray is cleaned.
Try this, and good luck with it.

Re: Zanussi fridge-freezer ZNB 3240
You need to empty and switch off for at least 24 hours to ensure all frost and ice melts, particular behind the back wall of the freezer.
If the problem re appears after a few weeks it's likely it will either be the no frost sensor or pcb that has failed, there isn't a seperate defrost timer on this as it is contrlloed electronically by the pcb (printed circuit control board). You could have an open circuit defrost element, all would need checking to avoid wasting money by geussing whats causing the problem.
