    Rs-44 (r424a)

I have a Mitsi split running on R22, It has lost all it's gas (I have inherited this job). I am thinking about taking this oppertunity to fit a replacement refrigerant. Having looked on the BOC 2010 site I think I am going to give RS-44 a go.
The only issue I have is that it says to take baseline readings on the system to compare system performance with the new gas, obviously this is not possible as there is no r22 left in it.
So what do I do, (repair the leak first!) stick with R22 and get a set of readings for future use or go with the new stuff and as long as the new readings look good post gas change leave it in there?

I have heard of others using RS44 in A/C with good results.

Using R22 is only going to be a tempory solution - If I was you I would go with RS44.

Lets us know how you get on!!!!!!!!

Well, telephoned BOC today and they can't source RS-44. Have decided to go with Isceon-59.... the cost of R22R has gone through the roof, it's almost twice the price of the drop in!
