If an inverter, then not a problem, if fixed speed, the humidity in the room may increase

No if it is inverter. If not, than it could constantly be in OFF-ON loop and compressor and other parts could be damaged, and high humidity will be present in air.

Keep in mind that single compressor inverter cannot ramp down below 30% capacity!

    hi all,

could someone explain why it would be high humidity, when the unit is on cooling it dehumidifies doesnt it? do you mean the unit will not be working as frequent therefore humidity will rise?

    thanks lee

If your unit works 70% OFF and 30% ON than dehumidifier is much lower than when this ratio is in reversal.

May be a 5kw room but have you allowed loading for hair driers, people, glass etc. Sounds a reasonable size. Try to fit a LARGE well inclined drain. These hair dressers clog up a unit quick-smart!

I would say it will be fine, you only get the full duty from them with them being in high fan speed so running it at low fan speed will mean its running closer to the actual required cooling anyway. Oh and less noise for the client!

I say fit the 7.5 kw kit..

hair style shops will produce a high amount of humidity which will greatly increase the amount of kw needed for the room..

since it is an inverter it will vary capacity as needed.. just be sure to locate the high wall where it wont make the patrons uncomfortable.. ice cold air blowing down on wet hair does not make for a very nice time... it gets rather chilled...

Get a free hair cut first. Then you can scan the operation, hair driers, washing stuff, spray gel stuff everywhere, so requires lots of fresh air, that perm cra# has got to be unfriendly. High humidity.
So go with what you have got and pressurized with lots of fresh air

hair spray sucked into the intake of a high wall.. that sounds like nice and sticky for hair to get stuck.. be sure the filters are fitted and tidy

Also: Not so much a problem with inverters but, with their high electrical consumption, a hairdressers often has an issue with available power at the consumer unit.

ie, it is not just a case of, is there a spare way in the board? but how much spare power do they still have available for the aircon.
