    PTC Probes

    Hi,

I need to change a probe that on the diagram states it's a PTC 1000, are all PTC probes 1000? as I have one that is labelled up as just a PTC can i use this one?.

    Cheers

    Re: PTC Probes

    Hi boulting.
    There are normally 2 ranges.
    PTC 100 and PTC 1000.
The 100 gives 100 ohms resistance at 0c and the 1000 gives 1000 ohms resistance at 0c.
There are tables available for either probe giving the relevant resistances for given ambient temperatures.
So they are easy to check.
There are others with differing ranges and also an NTC range.
Just google PTC and you should find some charts to help!
    Cheers Grizzly.
