    Additive Corrosion

Finding that an oil adative is breaking down internal aluminum compressor parts creating a white material that is clogging the distributor tubes in the system. Any experience with this same issue.

    Re: Additive Corrosion

How do you know that there is an additive in the oil that causes corrosion in aluminum?

What oil and refrigerant are you running? I seem to remember that R134a/polyolester oil can attack magnesium in compressor parts.
