A Tesco is a quaint term in the UK for a small corner shop

Actualy Tescos are a supermarket chain that own 2/3
of the UK and suposidly control all the prices for what
farmers get paid for their products. They turn over
millions of £££'s proffit a year..

    Re: Tesco WR

i think you will find you have to spend around 75% of your total working time over the last year working on the contract to be a valid TUPE
as WR dont have designated engineers i guess they will only transfer if the new contractor requires / wants them.
i do remember WR manager once saying to me that " designated engineers dont work." hmmm

    Re: Tesco WR

wr is running the tesco contract as a separate entity away from its other buisiness, they are going with a shift system, just like every other contractor, this is because tesco are demanding this, in my opinion this is there means to scoop up the labour to cover there contract by themselfs.
they have got all the contractors to sort out dedicated engineers on shifts, then give the companies **** money to look after the stores and put in place kpi's which are impossible to keep to, which in turn will force these companies to run at a loss, then tesco will scoop up the labour and run them through ems.

    Re: Tesco WR

surely if tesco wanted there own engineers theyd just advertise for 300 engineers nationwide on 45k and buy all parts same as beens n milk i.e ridiculously cheep ..... god dont tempt them lol hope not matey

    Re: Tesco WR

It's time all the larger companies capable of taking on this contract (and lets face it that is only a handfull) Refused to tender under Tesco terms and dictated to Tesco reasonable terms and kpi's. If they all stuck to their guns for once instead of cutting each other's throats the whole industry would benifit. How many companies have gone because of Sainsbury's???

Unfortunately there are laws that prevent companies from getting together and doing this.
They would all have to independently arrive at the same decision at the same time without being in contact with each other.
    It isn't going to happen.

Check out the recent case about price fixing within the building industry.

Tesco have already got engineers under the ems flag but not paying anywhere near £42000. More like £30000 on a shift system. As usual Tesco pay less, alot less, than the rest so they can keep their profits up. After all its only about profits.

if tesco paying 30K it;ll be to pretend non skilled refrigeration engineers, costing tesco more in the long run..bye bye profits in this sector anyway.
