Degrees °C Centigrade
I know quite a lot of people use the splat sign '*' to indicate the degree symbol and that's OK
If you want to smarten up your post, email or whatever try using the following:-
Hold down the ALT key and using the keypad numbers press 2, 4, 8.
You can let go of the ALT key now and revel in the excitment of seeing the ° symbol ( ) pop up on your screen.

Re: Degrees °C Centigrade
Hi Brian,
No can do.
I have it set up in Office 2003 but it dosen't work here.
Its the personal setting of the Signs in your computer.
If you explain how you did it on your computer, maybe I can do it on mine.

Re: Degrees °C Centigrade
Well it should, he says hopefully, because it is part of the ASCII code for symbols.
Try holding down ALT (not ALT Gr) and tapping out a few three digit codes into the numeric (Num Lock on) pad and see if you get anything at all.
If it don't work then I should have kept my mouth shut.Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Re: Degrees °C Centigrade
In your windows system folder (usually c:\windows\system32), there is an executable called charmap.exe.
Under XP, it can be accessed from :
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Character Map.
Needless to say, creating a shortcut on the task bar or desktop or start menu will come in handy.
Double click on the symbol you want to insert. Click on copy (it copies to the clipboard). Then paste ... and voila.OldWolf
