Copeland Modulating Controls? affect low temp evap?
Selecting compressors for water to water heat pump (seawater both sides). Must be 10hp nominal, must be capable of 50% and 100% step control.
Looking at Copeland Discus because suction temps get into both the low temp and med temp ranges. The appropriate compressor is 3 cylinder, but client is pushing hard for the 50% step. We can pull it off by using the Copeland Moduload setup which is a timed on/off cycle to achieve 10-100% capacity.
Evap/Condensors are shell/tube style
The Question: How does switching compressor load on/off affect evaporator/condensor performance? The flow must be starting and stopping throughout the system?
Anybody with experience using the moduload system please comment on your experiences.
Thanks,
