Liquid Slugs
This morning i found a good layer of frost covering the windscreen on the van and i'm a bit worried it might have liquid comming back
I managed to melt it with the heater and it was ok for the rest of the day, i think i'll check it in the morning tomorrow.
It must be a common problem as the neighbours car had frost on it too

Re: Liquid Slugs
Did you notice any Blackbirds nearby with sheepskin boots on, that may have eaten the liquid slugs that caused your problem?

Re: Liquid Slugs
Whatever it is is getting worse there was about 6" of frost all over the van this morning and i had to get a broom to brush it away, and in fact it spreads for as far as i can see so someting has gone seriously wrong somewhere.
I'll try a crankcase heater on the dash but am having a problem getting a 12v one

What superheat are you getting?

Re: Liquid Slugs
If parking lot is sheded leave the van's side windows a bit lowered as you park it at the end of the day.

Re: Liquid Slugs
Common misconception at this time of year, what you actually have is global warming, that's not ice its sand from the Sahara which has shifted northwards with massive temperature rises.......
al
ps have you tried insulating the suction line?

Re: Liquid Slugs
Cheers Desa,
I've got some ant powder, i'll give that a go
Cheers Al,
I was going to insulate the pipework but that armflex is too expensive, there must be something cheaper I was thinking of saving up bubble wrap or something

Re: Liquid Slugs
Could be an idea to fit a low ambient starter kit to the windscreen or a hot gas valve to shunt exaust gas to the screen.
Maybe remove the screen altogether, oh happy days when they were just toughened and the screen would shatter instead of cracking. Just what you`d need this time of year.

Re: Liquid Slugs
